Hotel and Attendee List Scams

Beware of Scams Targeting Attendees and Exhibitors

It has come to our attention that scammers are targeting Sign Experience Canada attendees and exhibitors. These scams often involve:

  • Fake hotel booking offers claiming to represent SAC-ACE.

  • Fraudulent attendee lists being offered for sale.

What You Need to Know

  • SAC-ACE does NOT rent or sell email lists to third parties.

  • Official SAC-ACE emails always come from @sac-ace.ca. Any other source should be treated as suspicious.

  • No third party is authorized to distribute or sell attendee or exhibitor lists for our events. Any statement claiming otherwise is fraudulent.

  • If you receive an email offering to sell Sign Experience Canada attendee list or SAC-ACE membership list, do not respond - delete the message immediately.

Some exhibitors and select sponsors may send communications to attendees; however all messages are sent on their behalf by SAC-ACE staff, using an official SAC-ACE email address, to individuals who have opted in for industry communications.

Hotel Booking Scams

SAC-ACE and our conference venue will never contact you by phone or email to make a hotel reservation. Anyone claiming to do so on our behalf is not authorized.

Recently detected scams include:

  • “Event Housing Planners” (representative named Ava Wilson) offering hotel rooms for Sign Experience Canada.

  • US company (representative named Max Lynch) making similar claims.

  • "Reconfirming Hotel Accommodation" offering hotel rooms at a discounted rate for Sign Experience Canada.

If you cancel your reservation, you may not be able to rebook at the same rate.

Be extremely cautious if you are contacted by any company or individual offering:

  • Discounted hotel rates

  • Access to attendee lists or exhibitor directories

  • Information about exhibitor packages

These offers are fraudulent.

If You Receive a Suspicious Email or Call

  • Do not engage with the sender.

  • Report it to SAC-ACE immediately at info@sac-ace.ca.

Your vigilance helps protect the integrity of our event and the safety of our community.
